How crazy does it sound to have active volcanos under the frozen continent of Antarctica or to have native civilization living on the ice of the Arctic? James Cook, Ernest Shackleton, Fabian von Bellingshausen, Erik the Red were some of the brave men who embarked on the voyage into the unknown, filled with the will to endure so generations would remember them as explorers and adventurers who discovered new frontiers for the humankind. The South and North poles remain hotbeds of exploration and discovery, inexhaustible sources of conspiracies, and inspiration for movies and books, but maybe there is still more to know about these amazing places.
