Across many forms of storytelling, one of the essential parts of a good experience is the world that the author presents and builds across the length of the story. Whether those are fantasy worlds filled with dragons, goblins and fairies, many versions of dystopian nightmares, or sci-fi futures powered by spaceships and distant planets, the best writers can make you experience these places as if you are living in them.
